Villa Pizza

Michelangelo's has deep roots in the triple cities. 25 years ago in July, 1985, Angelo Belnome opened Villa Pizza at the Oakdale Mall. Old Villa, 1994One year later, in October, 1986 Michael Hadlick joined Angelo as pizza maker and manager. In those days, Villa was the place to get a slice and a soda while shopping the mall; or where to pick up a couple of pies when unexpected guests stopped by. It wasn't too long before Mike and Angelo outgrew the Old Villa, and they moved across the aisle to The New Villa. The New Villa gave them larger seating area for guests as well as an improved kitchen area that permitted new menu items.

In August, 1997, Angelo sold Villa and pursued several new business ventures. He spent several years managing an Italian restaurant in Boca Raton, Florida, and he was co-owner of Mirella's Restaurant in Johnson City. Here, we share some interesting photographs and even a menu from "The Villa Days".

These photos bring back old memories.
